Creative Arts Emmys 2023: „The Last of Us“, „Ted Lasso“, „Wednesday“ und „The Bear“ räumen ab

Zur großen Verleihung der Emmy Awards zeichnet die US-amerikanische Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) bereits eine Woche zuvor die vielen dazugehörigen technischen Kategorien im Rahmen der Creative Arts Emmys aus, insgesamt werden über 100 Kategorien bei der diesjährigen Emmy-Verleihung prämiert. So wurden bereits am vergangenen Wochenende (6. und 7. Januar) im Rahmen einer zweigeteilten Veranstaltung im Peacock Theater in Los Angeles zahlreiche TV-Serien und -Filme mit den 75. Creative Arts Emmys ausgezeichnet.

Die große Preisverleihung der 75. Emmy Awards in den prestigeträchtigsten Kategorien findet am kommenden Montag, den 15. Januar statt. Als Gastgeber fungiert diesmal Anthony Anderson. Ursprünglich war die Emmy-Verleihung 2023 für den 18. September vorgesehen, wurde jedoch aufgrund des Streiks von Schauspielern und Drehbuchautoren verschoben.

Zu den großen Favoriten zählte die erfolgreiche und viel gelobte Serie „The Last of Us“ (HBO), die mit 19 Nominierungen ins Rennen um die begehrte Auszeichnungen ging und bislang acht davon in einen Preis umwandeln konnte. Damit führt die Serie die Liste der großen Gewinner der Creative Arts Emmys an (fernsehserien.de berichtete).

Weitere vielfach nominierten Serien sind „Succession“ (HBO) und „Ted Lasso“ (Apple TV+) mit jeweils 13 Nominierungen, gefolgt von „The White Lotus“ (HBO) mit elf, „The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel“ (Prime Video) mit zehn, „The Mandalorian“ (Disney+) mit neun, „Only Murders in the Building“ (Hulu/​Disney+) mit acht und „The Bear“ (FX) mit sieben Nominierungen. Jedoch konnten letztendlich nur wenige dieser genannten Produktionen am Ende des Abends (wenn überhaupt) mehr als einen Preis in Empfang nehmen.

Die meisten Preise bei den Creative Arts Emmys gingen vielmehr – neben „The Last of Us“ (mit acht Emmys) – an „Welcome to Wrexham“ (FX) mit fünf Emmys, gefolgt von „The Bear“ (FX), „Wednesday“ (Netflix) und „The White Lotus“ (HBO) mit je vier Emmys sowie „Beef“ (Netflix) mit drei und „Ted Lasso“ (Apple TV+) mit zwei Emmys.

Aus Sicht der Studios, TV-Sender und Streamingdienste zählt HBO mit insgesamt 22 Auszeichnungen zu den großen Abräumern der Creative Arts Emmy Awards, in den Hauptkategorien dürften hier noch einige dazukommen. Dahinter positionieren sich Netflix mit 16 Emmys, FX (10), Apple TV+ (9), Disney+ (8) und Amazon Prime Video mit bislang sechs Emmys. Die großen Networks wie NBC, FOX oder ABC sortieren sich hingegen mit vereinzelten Preisen dahinter ein.
