Filmfassung
Nach Einstellung der Fernsehserie wurden alle Episoden der Originalserie für unabhängige Fernsehstationen neu geschnitten in Form von Fernsehfilmen, einschließlich einer dritten Schnittversion des Pilotfilms Saga of a Star World. Die zweiteiligen Episoden Lost Planet of the Gods, Gun on Ice Planet Zero, The Living Legend und War of the Gods wurden jeweils zusammengefügt und mit über fünf Minuten ehemals herausgeschnittener Szenen erweitert. Die verbliebenen Einzelepisoden wurden in Zwei-Stunden-Blöcke zusammengeschnitten und mit teilweise neu synchronisierten Dialogen ergänzt, damit die Handlung besser zusammenpasst, weil die Episodenreihenfolge nicht mehr stimmt. Der letzte Fernsehfilm, eine erweiterte Version von Experiment in Terra, wurde mit einigen Szenen aus der Galactica 1980-Folge The Return of Starbuck kombiniert und enthält neues Filmmaterial, in dem ein Astronaut Commander Adamas Logbuch findet, welches die Handlung der Serie schildert.
